Scandian introduced their sawn wear layer engineered Bonita Collection last year at Surfaces and we are pleased with its acceptance in the market place. “This product is simply beautiful” said Fabio Scandian, President of Scandian Wood Floors. “The full fill face and satin gloss finish allow for the natural colors and grain to show through”, Scandian said.

Produced in a sate of the art facility in Curitiba Brazil, Scandian’s Bonita collection features South American exotic species in several thicknesses. The Silver collection features a 3” wide and 3/8” thick profile with a 2.5mm sawn wear layer, the Gold Collection features 1/2” thick profile with a 3.6mm wear layer in 3 1/4” and 5” widths, and the Platinum Collection features a 1/2” thick profile with a 5mm wear layer in 3 1/4” and 5” widths.

Bonita’s multiple cross grained core provides the stability and flexibility for use on all grades, substrates and installation methods. The sawn wear layer is applied to the core via a revolutionary cold press manufacturing process termed Solitec-Solid Beauty with Engineered Stability. This process greatly reduces stress on the wear layer and provides a clean face that is finished with a UV resistant 10 coat Aluminum Oxide finish.

“The market has been very receptive to the product and we have been extremely successful in gaining space in retail show rooms”, said John Patterson, VP Sales North America. “Bonita combines the structural benefits of engineered flooring and the beauty of sawn wood. The market is continuing to demand exotic species and Bonita’s species selection, various profiles, and flexible installation makes it the best option in the market”, Patterson said.
