Prefinished hardwood flooring maker Boa Franc has added two New York-area distributors for its Mirage brand. The two companies, Apollo Distributing Co. and Derr Flooring Co., will serve the New York City Metropolitan Area, Northern New Jersey and Western Connecticut.

Previously, the Mirage brand was handled in New York by the now defunct Hoboken Floors of Wayne, N.J. The company recently closed its doors after 77 years, with debts and assets estimated at $100 million each.

Apollo Distributing Co. is a third-generation, family-owned floor covering business based in Fairfield, N.J., with more than 87 years in business. The company serves retailers, builders, contractors and home centers.

“Apollo’s dedication to innovation and leadership in value-added service convinced us that we were on the same page with regard to goals and vision,” said Pierre Thabet, Boa-Franc’s president.

Derr Flooring began life as Derr Lumber Co. in 1912. Today, the company operates six warehouses in four states, and employes more than 150 people. Based in Edison, N.J., Derr offers floor covering products and accessories for both residential and commercial markets.

“Derr Flooring is committed to offering the highest quality products made by premier manufacturers, and that is why we believe the Mirage line is a perfect fit,” Thabet noted.
