CFI, WFCA launch new training programs for installers, dealers
A course on troubleshooting, repairing and replacing a range
of flooring is set for Nov. 28-30 at Custom Floors’ headquarters in Salt Lake
City. A joint effort of Certified Floorcovering Installers and the World Floor
Covering Association, the course will cover carpet, laminate, ceramic, hardwood
and resilient flooring.
According to CFI executive director Jon Namba, the course is “a first” for the industry. “The numerous techniques, tools and resources that will be made available for the attendees have never been presented in this hands-on type of format,” he said.
The training is open to dealers, installers, manufacturers and inspectors. Tuition is $1,200. Those completing the course are eligible for an advanced version set for June 2008. CFI and WFCA will also offer hands-on training for all flooring surfaces in the coming months at several Big D Supply locations. The focus will be on new techniques, backings and tools.
