Johnsonite recently won twoNFTStyling Excellence Awards for its Integrated High-Performance Flooring. Jeff Krejsa, Johnsonite’s marketing director, said the recognition couldn’t come at a better time for the company.

“We’ve had an interesting situation over the last two years when Johnsonite became part of the Tarkett family,” he said. “The decision to integrate what would have formerly been Tarkett’s specialty products with Johnsonite’s line was risky. But it has paid off.”

Previously, Johnsonite was known mostly for its rubber flooring and wall base accessories, he explained. But since joining with Tarkett, the company now offers a complete range of vinyl, linoleum and specialty flooring for the commercial market.

“Our field team can now talk to end-users about every part of the building,” he said. “We can offer them homogenous and heterogeneous vinyl floors, linoleum in projects where LEED and sustainability are a particular concern, and a host of other options. And we can tie it all together with our wall base and accessories.”

Krejsa added that the awards help assure him that Johnsonite is moving in the right direction. “These awards were voted on by our core audience, and they recognize our new system as valuable,” he said. “It helps confirm what our decisions have been as well as our strategies moving forward.”
