Salem, N.J.-based Mannington Mills has announced its 2008 slate of classes for its Installation Training Center. The center is set to offer classes on resilient, laminate and hardwood products, with training focusing on some of the company’s latest lines.

“In the past two years, Mannington’s product categories have expanded to include groutable luxury vinyl tile, glass-back resilient and LocnGo hardwood, so this is the perfect time to reintroduce the training center to installers,” said Terry Fitzpatrick, Mannington’s installation manager.

Training will focus on subfloor selection and preparation, as well as floor repairs, according to Fitzpatrick. Specifically, resilient classes will include specialized instruction on cutting, fitting, adhesive selection and application, seam cutting and sealing and hands-on LVT installation instruction. Additionally, hardwood/laminate classes will involve the general properties of engineered hardwood and laminate flooring, as well as techniques for layout, fitting, and fastening.

Hardwood/laminate classes are slated for April 20-24, Sept. 21-25 and Nov. 9-13. Resilient classes will be held May 18-22 and Oct. 19-23. Installers who complete the course will receive a Mannington “Factory Trained” certificate and an exclusively designed “Factory Trained” polo shirt. Class size is limited to 10 people per session, and is open to installers affiliated with Mannington Specialty Retailers. For more information, call (800) FLOOR-US (800-356-6787).
