Hardwood manufacturer Harris Wood said it is teaming with Design Flooring Distributors to re-launch the Harris brand and to distribute Harris Wood products in Florida. The Pompano Beach, Fla.-based distributor becomes the first distributor to operate exclusively under the aegis of Harris Wood and will serve retail clients from its headquarters and its branch facility in Orlando. The announcement was made by Matthew Galvez, CEO of ArborCraft which is the parent company of the Jackson City, Tenn.-based Harris Wood.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Design Flooring Distributors because of their niche leadership in quality and wood flooring design.” said Galvez. “At Harris Wood, we continue to focus on growth through rebuilding good partnerships and getting back to the venerable roots that comprise the foundation of the company.”
Wayne Cotton, president of the 40-year-old Design Flooring Distributors, commented: “We have operated with the simple philosophy of offering our customers leading products in both design and quality. We have an unwavering commitment to make our customers successful. We’ve done this by providing industry-leading products sourced from trusted, nationally recognized wood flooring brands. That is why we are enthusiastic about our partnership with Harris Wood floors, along with its new look and new product selections.”
Established in 1898 and focused exclusively on wood products, Harris Manufacturing merged with Tarkett Flooring in 1986. In November 2007, the brands and all the manufacturing assets of Tarkett Wood/Harris Manufacturing became part of the independent, American-owned, wood flooring company ArborCraft. Harris Wood manufactures engineered and solid wood flooring in its plants in Johnson City, Tenn., and Montpelier Ind.
