Georgia officials: Mohawk shutting plant in June

Mohawk Industries has informed state officials in Georgia of plans to close a filament carpet yarn plant that employs 366 people in Dahlonega, Ga. in June, affecting 366 workers. The Georgia Dept. of Labor announced the closing on its web site and noted that it will provide transitional services to laid-off workers. Mohawk officials were unavailable for comment at press time.
