The British Wool Marketing Board will promote a “Naturally Green” message for British Wool products at Domotex 2010, set for Jan. 16-19 in Hannover, Germany. The British Wool exhibit will be located in Hall 5 Stand F38.

A recent Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Study completed to ISO 14040 by Leeds University has provided British Wool “with valuable credibility and vital information for the industry,” the marketing board said.

“We can guarantee the source of the fiber through the assurance certification system and this will make the LCA a valuable document to manufacturers, particularly in the contract market,” noted Richard Poole, European business manager for the marketing board.

“Our ‘Naturally Green’ message is a serious message for industry wanting environmental credibility for their products,” he continued. “We have already introduced our LCA to the trade in the UK and have had a lot of interest. This European launch supported by our new report on Best Management Practices ensures that manufacturers have the data and environmental  information they need to address the eco agenda and satisfy the increasingly more specific brief of the contract customer.”

The board's British Wool Summary of Best Management Practices outlines the husbandry, health and standards to which British Wool is produced. The summary is aimed at helping manufacturers address the EU Bream legislation and the Leed NSF 140 program in the U.S.
