Brintons has appointed Andrew Walker as chairman of the company. He succeeds Michael Brinton who held the position for nearly 17 years. Brinton will continue to serve as a non-executive director and honorary president of the company.
Walker has been a non-executive director of Brintons since 2006. He brings extensive experience in global manufacturing operations to his new post, having served as group chief executive for McKechnie plc, which has 34 businesses worldwide; South Wales Electricity plc; and managing director of John Crane Polymer Engineering, which has 20 sites in Europe, the UK, and North America.
"Michael [Brinton] has steered the group through some extremely testing times and has ensured that it has survived in a challenging environment. The Board has asked me to takeover as chairman as we chart a clear course for an exciting future," Walker said.
