The Long Island Floor Covering Association will host a free educational seminar, "Preventing and Handling Complaints," at 7 p.m. March 31 in Long Island, N.Y. Aimed at retail and wholesale salespeople, the event will include a panel of experts talking about consumer complaints and answering questions from the audience.
Topics are set to include avoiding complaints by not overselling, being honest about what to expect from floor covering products, preparing the customer for what will happen on the day of installation, and making sure a proper maintenance program is in place. The panel will also discuss ways to turn complaints into positive experiences by handling them correctly. Additionally, a certified inspector will reveal what he looks for when handing complaints. The legal and warranty aspects of complaints will also be covered.
