Pergo has expanded its partnership with German-based Wächter Packautomatik, a mechanical engineering company. Through a new licensing agreement, Wächter Packautomtik will market any machines developed in cooperation with Pergo as “Original Wächter Packautomatik engineered by Pergo.”

Wächter, which has a longstanding relationship with Pergo, is one of the preeminent manufacturers of machines that insert clips used in laminate flooring fold-down joints. Flooring that incorporates this technology has been produced by Pergo since 2008 and has quickly become a worldwide standard, Pergo said.

“It is important to us, together with selected suppliers, to set worldwide standards that benefit the entire industry," said Ralf Eisermann, CEO of Pergo and manager of flooring activities at parent company Pfleiderer. "Furthermore, we can now emphasize our superior engineering competence alongside our numerous patents.”
