Joaquín Piñón Gaya has been appointed president of the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association, ASCER.

Joaquín Piñón Gaya has been named as the new president of the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association, ASCER. He replaces Fernando Diago, who had led the association for 11 years.

Gaya, who recently served as ASCER’s vice president, comes to the helm following the resignation of the association’s entire executive board on April 16. “Becoming president of ASCER is a source of pride, a responsibility and a challenge that should be taken up with enthusiasm and dedication but at the same time humility,” Gaya said. His agenda includes environmental policies, internationalization, promoting the Tile of Spain brand, improved customer service and continued efforts in product innovation.

Gaya heads the family-owned ceramic company Gayafores. He is also president of the Ceramic Technology Institute (ITC) and vice president of Cevisama.
