Shaw Industries recently announced two new line expansions. The company has purchased hardwood flooring strip manufacturer Stuart Flooring Corp. of Stuart, Va., and Shaw Commercial has signed on as the sole distributor of LG Hausys flooring in North America.

Stuart, established in 1922, is known for its unfinished solid wood flooring and unfinished parquet flooring for residential applications. “The acquisition of Stuart enhances our solid wood supply chain and substantially increases both our sales capacity and product capability in this segment,” said Vance D. Bell, Shaw’s ceo.

LG Hausys is Korea’s largest building and decorative material company, and offers more than 350 commercial resilient SKUs with post-consumer recycled content. Dave Thoresen, exec vp LG Hausys Floors, will be joining Shaw to manage the commercial resilient business.

“Shaw’s entrance into resilient will allow us to apply our sustainability through innovation practices to transform this growing product category,” noted Tim Baucom, Shaw’s vp, commercial sales and marketing.
