As previously reported, a tribute to the life and legacy of the late Sonna Calandrino will be held Tuesday, August 17, in Dalton, Ga. A special website with more information is scheduled to be up and running on July 12, atwww.sonnacalandrino.com.

According to event chairperson Ann Seay, “So many people asked what was being done to honor her memory. The next thing you know, there is an ad hoc committee which had coalesced around the idea, and contributions from  major brands and individuals started to come in to help fund an event.“

The event on Aug. 17 in Dalton will include a reception from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Trevitt Hall, 111 South Hamilton St., with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. The reception will be followed by a speaker tribute program (with speakers to be announced), from 7 to 9 p.m. at the historic WINK Theatre, 115 W. Crawford St.

Seay said a growing list of industry figures is planning to attend the event, including: Jeff Lorberbaum, chairman, Mohawk Industries; LaShon McGinnis of Shaw Industries; Nia Cherry, director, Industry Partnerships, American Society of Interior Designers; Bob Holdsworth, emcee, president & ceo, Wheelhouse, Inc. retail consultants; and Lisbeth Calandrino, Sonna’s sister and colleague.

The event steering committee in made up of Ann Seay, a former Mohawk executive assistant (Phone: 706-271-7472, Emailannseay@ymail.com); Debbie Sywak, IVC USA; LaShon McGinnis, Shaw Industries; and Kristen Joseph Isaacs, Time and Motion.
