The overall winner of the Green Building Design Awards was El Associates for the Selinsgrove Elementary School project in Selinsgrove, Pa.


The Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania recently honored several architectural firms for green building projects in the area. The Green Building Design Awards include six categories based on six LEED credit areas, as well as an overall winner. Entries were judged by design and construction professionals.

Wagman Construction Inc. earned two Green Building Design Awards (Innovation in Design and Indoor Environmental Quality) for its corporate offices in York, Pa. Winners walked down a green carpet donated by Interface Flooring. The carpet was made using approximately 70 percent recycled content, according to event organizers.

The overall winner was El Associates for the Selinsgrove Elementary School project in Selinsgrove, Pa. Other winners included: Ganflec Architects and Wohlsen Construction for Campus Square in Harrisburg (Sustainable Sites); Ganflec Architects for the Blue Chip Federal Credit Union in Harrisburg (Materials & Resources); Wagman Construction Inc. for Wagman’s corporate offices in York (Innovation in Design and Indoor Environmental Quality); Brechbill & Helman for Vacon headquarters in Chambersburg (Water Efficiency); and McClure Co. for a Tamaqua School District project (Energy Efficiency).
