Maria Bello, Hilary Swank, Joyful Heart Foundation founder Mariska Hargitay, Rosie Perez and Marcia Gay Harden at the Joyful Heart Gala, which raised $1.6 million to fight domestic violence.
The recent 2010 Joyful Heart Gala, which was held in May in New York at Skylight, included a bright fuchsia carpet from Karastan that complemented the event's color scheme of pink and black. Mariska Hartigay started the Joyful Heart Foundation in 2004 to help heal and educate survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse. This year's event helped raise more than $1.6 million for the foundation.
Karastan has contributed to the event for the last three years. “Karastan is so grateful to be able to support this worthy cause,” said Connie Berry, director of marketing for Karastan.
News analyst George Stephanopoulos was the guest speaker, and performers Cyndi Lauper and Eric Lewis provided entertainment. Guests included Hargitay and her husband Peter Hermann, Maria Bello (host), Chris Meloni (host), Debra Messing, Hilary Swank, Marcia Gay Harden, Moby, Rosie Perez, Stephanie March, Mario Batali, Matthew Morrison, and many more celebrities and guests.
