Washington, D.C.-based architecture and design firm Karn Charuhas Chapman & Twohey (KCCT) has been contracted by the U.S. Department of State and General Services Administration to provide interior space planning, full-service renovation design, and construction administration services for four buildings on the Potomac Annex campus.

The building renovations, totaling 100,000 gross square feet, will serve approximately 400 Department of State personnel as both swing space and permanent occupancy. The design of the renovations include full service architectural/interiors, life-safety, MEP, security and telecommunications. The fully renovated buildings will be designed to achieve LEED certification. Minor site upgrades will also be designed to meet Department of State standards for a secure campus.

The 7-acre Potomac Annex campus is located along 23rd Street, adjacent to the Harry S. Truman Department of State headquarters. The Department of State will acquire the campus from the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery this summer. The KCCT project team includes Principal John Chapman, AIA and Project Manager Brian Talty, AIA, LEED AP.

Additionally, KCCT recently promoted Amy Cuddy to director of marketing. With a degree in Digital Communications from Lebanon Valley College, Cuddy brings more than five years of experience in marketing, communications, and graphic design to KCCT’s marketing department. Cuddy currently serves on the Education Committee of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Society of Marketing for Professional Services (SMPS) and the Membership Committee of Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR).
