Representatives from Mullican Flooring were among dignitaries attending the HGTV Urban Oasis 2010 Giveaway “key” ceremony, held Dec. 2, 2010, in New York City. The HGTV event was the finale for a $1.5 million sweepstakes competition, which included the giveaway of a fully furnished, luxurious Manhattan apartment located in the newly built The Residences at W New York-Downtown.
The sweepstakes winner, University of Central Florida student Adam Venckauskas, was officially presented with the key to the luxury apartment at the Dec. 2 gathering.
“It has been a great experience to see how Mullican’s quality products were integrated into one of the most exciting and upscale design projects in the country,” said Mullican President Neil Poland. “We are proud to have been a part of such an impressive undertaking, and we congratulate Adam on his good fortune in winning the sweepstakes.”
The Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mullican, which has facilities in four states, was the exclusive flooring sponsor for the 900 sq. ft. apartment. The residence was decorated by Vern Yip, one of the world’s leading interior designers, and structurally designed by Jack Thomasson, who also plans HGTV’s annual Dream Home and Green Home giveaways.
A leading manufacturer of solid and engineered hardwood floors, Mullican provided 800 sq. ft. of flooring in walnut ebony brown from its Frontier Collection. The flooring is one of 1,500 Mullican products available through 50 distributors and 5,000 retailers across the United States.
The Urban Oasis apartment is one of several found in the 57-story residential tower located in Lower Manhattan, with views of Battery Park City, the Statue of Liberty and the new World Trade Center.
