Mohawk and Karastan have announced Operation Rebuild, a program designed to assist retailers and consumers living in Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who were impacted by Hurricane Irene.

The companies have developed an outreach campaign to identify those most impacted by the storm. Mohawk/Karastan sales teams and credit departments will work together to help rebuild stores and provide retailers with the necessary credit to continue operations. Additionally, to help consumers affected in the Northeast, Mohawk and Karastan have prepared a very aggressive consumer finance offer, with buy downs, allowing consumers to finance their flooring needs at essentially no cost to them. Both soft and hard surface products are included in the promotion. Lastly, the companies are deploying key inventory to the Northeast to ensure retailers are prepared with adequate product needed to help get consumers back home quickly.

“We at Mohawk and Karastan wanted to help our retailers in the Northeast get their businesses operating again quickly, so we developed Operation Rebuild. We are happy to do our part in helping retailers and consumers alike get their lives back in working order,” said David Duncan, vp marketing at Mohawk Flooring. “Operation Rebuild will hopefully make it easier for retailers to focus on what’s most important: meeting the needs of customers and rebuilding their communities.”
