The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has named Mili Washington the new IICRC standards director. She will be responsible for streamlining the standards development process and strategy at IICRC, work toward American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approval for new and revised ANSI/IICRC standards, and use more digital tools to increase virtual collaboration.

“We welcome Ms. Washington to the IICRC,” said IICRC President Patrick Winters. “Her strong background with ANSI accredited standards development will continue to help the IICRC reach its goal of being recognized as developing the most credible, collaborative and up-to-date standards of care for our allied industries.”

For the past five years, Washington has focused her work in the area of standards development and management. In her previous role as manager of standards and guidelines for the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), she oversaw three ANSI accredited standards committees that developed 20 ANSI standards for the occupational health and safety profession. In addition, Washington managed the standards representatives to various national, ANSI and international standards developing committees.

“I’m excited to be working with the IICRC. It’s a dynamic and exciting organization with a leading reputation in the cleaning and restoration industry,” Washington noted.

Washington is a member of The Society for Standards Professionals (SES) and is certified as an Associate Standards Professional (AStD). She graduated with a Masters degree from George Washington University in Environmental and Resource Policy after completing a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University in New Delhi, India.
