The National Wood Flooring Association announced the winners of its 2011 Wood Floor of the Year contest during an awards dinner at its recent convention in San Diego. This year’s Wood Floor of the Year Contest yielded 85 entries from six countries, including the United States, Canada, Russia, and Malaysia. All entries in the competition featured flooring installations completed between January 2010 and January 2011.

Winners were:Best CNC/Laser,Yantarnaya Pryad-Parquet – Khimki, Russian Federation;Best Commercial,Archetypal Imaginary Remodeling Corp. – Little Neck, N.Y.;Best Limited Species,Precision Floorcrafters – Summerfield, Fla.;Best Manufacturer Finished,Jamie Beckwith Collection – Nashville;Best Reclaimed,H&M Flooring – Chicago;Best Residential,Fine Cut Wood Flooring – Derry, N.H.;Best Restoration,Inex Floors – Richboro, Pa.;Designers’ Choice,First Coast Flooring – Jacksonville, Fla.; andMembers’ Choice,Precision Floorcrafters – Summerfield, Fla.

Honorable mentions in the Best Residential Category went to: Inex Floors - Richboro, Pa.; and H&M Flooring - Chicago.

The Wood Floor of the Year awards were developed to encourage and recognize innovative craftsmanship and design in wood flooring installations.
