Antron seeking entries for all of its award programs
Invista, maker of Antron carpet fiber, is seeking entries for all of its Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award programs and has launched a new award, the Antron Carpet Fiber Match Award.
Invista, maker of Antron carpet fiber, is seeking entries for all of its Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award programs including: The 25th Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award, the 6th Antron Carpet Fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance Award and the 11th Antron Carpet Fiber Product Innovation Award. It has also launched a new award, the Antron Carpet Fiber Match Award. All entries for all awards are due by Sept. 30, 2011.
“Our series of Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award programs give us the opportunity to recognize creative leadership in design, sustainability, product development and now marketing,” said Tracy Cook, global brand manager for Invista commercial flooring. “To celebrate our 25th design award competition, we will be honoring the winners of each award at a signature industry event in the spring of 2012.”
The Antron Carpet Fiber Match Award
Commercial manufacturers of carpet, furniture and textiles in the United States and Canada are invited to enter for this new award that will recognize products, programs and services that streamline the design and specification processes associated with commercial finishes. This competition is presented in conjunction with Contract Magazine and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Invista’s goal is to recognize commercial interiors manufacturers’ innovative marketing programs and practices that have matched an unmet need or improved a design process for their customers.
Entries will be judged on the innovation of the tool or service and the success of the program with the intended audience. Each entrant will be required to submit an official entry form, design rationale statement and supporting marketing materials. Antron Carpet Fiber Design Award
Architects and interior designers in the United States and Canada are invited to submit entries showcasing creativity in commercial interior design through the innovative use of carpet. The award is open to all commercial interiors projects that feature installations of Antron carpet fiber in the United States and Canada completed after Sept. 1, 2009. Entries will be accepted in the categories of Retail, Showroom, Education (K-12), Education (Higher Ed), Public Spaces/Institutional (such as airports, museums, convention centers, churches, libraries, and government non-offices), Large Office (over 35,000 square feet), Small Office (less 35,000 square feet), Healthcare and Hospitality (hotels, restaurants, spas, casinos, resorts).

Antron Carpet Fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance Award
The Antron Carpet Fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance Award recognizes the use of performance-driven carpet choices in commercial applications, which, in addition to other benefits, demonstrates the First Life message that longer product life can play a significant role in reducing the environmental impact associated with premature consumption of resources required to replace or recycle carpet. Entries will be judged on how well the original carpet selection continued to meet the client’s performance and design objectives, and the ability of the design to meet the client’s business objectives and challenges over time, as a result of sustainable material selection. Carpets must be installed prior to June 15, 2001 to be eligible for the award.

Commercial carpet mills in the United States and Canada are invited to submit entries showcasing unique carpet styles that excel in aesthetics, color and usage in the marketplace. Awards are given for broadloom and modular styles.

All of the winners will be entered into the People’s Choice Award, created to honor carpet mills for carpet styling innovation directly from a broad audience of architects and designers. This award provides insight into what they view as innovative styling for commercial carpet. A distinguished panel of judges will select the winners for all four of the award competitions.
