Millennium Weavers promotes two
Millennium Weavers has promoted two key management team members. Mike Thompson has been named area rug division vp and Gary Goforth vp international sales.
“Mike and Gary are vital to our management team and our global efforts,” said Millennium Weavers CEO Jeff Knott. “We will continue to build our company with only the best industry talent. Mike and Gary’s contributions and successful outcomes to MW in 2011 are worthy of their promotions and one more step in us becoming world-class in all aspects.”
After a 16-year career in senior sales management with Shaw Industries, Thompson most recently owned and managed a retail specialty rug business in Chattanooga before joining Millennium Weavers last June.
“Mike will have full operational responsibilities for our rug business development,” noted Rickey Mullins, svp business development.
“We’re excited about our first show in Atlanta with LR Resources,” Thompson added. “We’ll have our first seven collections showcased in LR’s beautiful showroom, Space 4F3, Jan. 12-15. We will also be making a major announcement there to unveil something very special to the rug industry at 2 p.m. on Jan. 12.”
With more than 30 years of sales and marketing management experience within the carpet industry, Goforth brings a unique network of international relationships to the company. Goforth most recently ran international sales for Blueridge Commercial Carpets and has spent significant time in international sales management roles at Mannington Commercial, and various residential sales and marketing positions at Shaw and Salemcarpets.
“Gary will be focused on growing the MW residential and commercial business in the Americas markets,” Mullins continued. “Gary’s relationships in the international realm are significant and positions us very well.”
