The National Wood Flooring Association said it will offer four CEUs approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) at its Wood Flooring Expo at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center near Orlando, Fla., on April 11-12.  The AIA certifies CEUs for professional architects, while the IDCEC certifies CEUs for professional designers with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Designers Association (IIDA), and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).

Each of the four sessions being presented at the Expo will offer one CEU credit. The courses areBack to Basics – Wood Flooring 101,which will provide information about the characteristics of hardwood flooring and the different types of hardwood flooring available; It’s Not Easy Being Green – Sustainability of Wood, which will explore the green attributes of hardwood flooring and green building programs; This Isn’t Your Grandma’s Floor – Ornamental Wood Floors, which will share the decorative design options available with hardwood floors like borders, medallions, hand-scraping and mixed media; andBeauty is More Than Skin Deep – Maintaining & Refinishing Wood Floors, which will present the importance of maintenance in the specification process, as well as the refinishing options available for hardwood floors.

Architects and designers can attend all four sessions for free, and will be able to attend the Wood Flooring Expo Trade Show for free as well to see all the industry’s latest products and services.

These programs will be the first to be placed in an NWFA CEU Library, which will be available to NWFA members to use as a marketing tool in their local markets. The CEU Library will offer a multitude of CEUs covering a broad range of wood flooring topics, at various skill levels.
