Cartersville, Ga. – March 14, 2012 – Shaw Contract Group opened a showroom in Mexico City on March 1, providing its customers with greater access to Cradle to Cradle certified flooring products and services.  The showroom, a LEED-registered Commercial Interior showroom, pending Retail certification, showcases the complete range of flooring solutions available to customers in Mexico City.

“Shaw Contract Group is expanding its presence in strategic markets around the globe, markets where we see opportunity for growth and the ability to enhance the services available to our customers,” said John Stephens, vice president of marketing for Shaw Contract Group. “Whereas our recently announced Asia Pacific expansion is designed to open doors for new business relationships, the showroom opening in Mexico City reflects our continued commitment to support this growing market for design. Forward-thinking architectural and interior design projects are a part of the city’s heritage. As the leading voice of design in commercial flooring, Shaw Contract Group will continue to be a part of the great work initiated by Mexican design firms.”

“Growing our sales penetration into the Mexico City market has been an important objective for Shaw Contract Group for several years,” said John Davis, vice president of international sales. “Our partnership with Terza, the exclusive distributor of Shaw commercial and residential products in Mexico, has helped us penetrate the marketplace. Now, with a dedicated salesforce in place focused on elevating the Shaw Contract Group brand, we are strategically placed to service the needs of the A&D community and end users seeking high performance, PVC-free carpet tiles and other flooring solutions.”

The new showroom is partnership between Shaw Contract Group and Terza. Terza is a manufacturer of residential carpet products in Mexico and is jointly owned by Grupo ALFA in Mexico and Shaw Industries Group, Inc. ALFA and Shaw have embarked upon successful collaborations beyond Terza. ALFA-subsidiary DAK Americas partnered with Shaw in 2010 to launch Clear Path Recycling, a PET bottle recycling operation based in Fayetteville, NC.
