The 2012 ADEX Awards brought in a record 2,814 product entries from over 500 different companies. Sponsored byDesign Journal Magazine,ADEX is the largest awards competition for product design marketed to the design trade. The 2012 award marks the fourth consecutive year that a Johnsonite product received the ADEX Platinum award.

Launched in 2011, Color Essence and Azterra are two vinyl enhanced tiles (VET). Available in a rich, tone-on-tone palette of 51 colors with six coordinating slip resistant tiles, Color Essence offers designers a wide spectrum of color options. Azterra VET was designed to color coordinate with the new Color Essence tiles as well as with Johnsonite finishing borders, transitions and other finishing accessories. Azterra combines the look of granite particles with soft, flowing marble in 14 color choices.

Both collections feature Tritonite II, a polyurethane-reinforced construction designed to withstand heavy foot traffic. Each tile contains a minimum of six percent post-consumer and up to 23 percent pre-consumer recycled content. Both products are FloorScore certified for indoor air quality, are manufactured in a facility meeting ISO 14001 standards and can help earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification points.
