Mannington Commercial has announced the four finalists in the company's annual design competition, the tx:style design challenge. Selected on the basis of public votes and comments, as well as aesthetics, creativity and manufacturability, the four finalists will join the Mannington product development team in New York later this month, to develop the patterns into physical product. The finalists are Kristyn Hill of Boston, MA; Berglind Davis of Burlington, VT; Katie Henry of Fort Wayne, IN; and Heather Bryan of Charlotte, NC.

The finalists' designs, translated into carpet, will be posted on the contest website,http://manningtontxstyle.com,on May 7. The Grand Prize Winner will be selected entirely on the basis of public voting between that date and June 12, where he or she will be announced at NeoCon World's Trade Fair. As winner, he or she will earn a purse of $7,000, a trip to Milan for the International Furniture Fair, and will develop a full product collection of flooring, with Mannington Commercial.

"In the past three years, we have seen five amazing collections of carpet and LVT tile grow out of the tx:style platform," said Natalie Jones, Mannington's Vice President of Brand Development and Creative Product. "Tx:style is a one-of-a-kind platform for developing and sharing content, where ideas and opinions thrive and take shape on the floor."

In the first year of the contest in 2009, more than 400 entries garnered nearly half a million votes. During the competition's lifespan more than 20,000 members of the design community have registered to submit, rank, comment and vote on which pattern would be developed into a full flooring collection.
