The National Association of Realtors (NAR) will hold the Realtors Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 14 -19, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

More than 9,000 participants from across the country are expected to attend. On Thursday, May 17, realtors will rally in front of the Washington Monument from 9:30-11 a.m. Members of Congress will join realtors as they hear from speakers about how homeownership issues affect individuals, communities, small businesses and the nation, according to NAR.

Throughout the week, realtors will meet with regulators, industry leaders, and members of Congress to address critical and urgent issues like homeownership tax benefits, mortgage liquidity, flood insurance reform, commercial real estate lending, and measures to ensure the stability of the real estate market and overall economic recovery.

Speakers and guest panelists throughout the week include former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele; leading Democratic strategist Celinda Lake; Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Edward DeMarco; Acting Federal Housing Administration Commissioner and Assistant Secretary for Housing Carole Galante; National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling; Moody’s Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi; Federal Reserve System Governor Elizabeth Duke; Counselor to the Treasury Secretary on Housing Finance Michael Stegman; Federal Reserve Board of Governors Senior Economist Raven Molloy; and Real Estate Roundtable President and CEO Jeffrey DeBoer.

The Trade Expo will be open on Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. More than 100 exhibitors will demonstrate the latest real estate industry products and services and explain how these are transforming the way realtors do business.
