CBC Flooring has announced that two more of its product lines, Sequoia and WELS Sheet offered under the CERES  brand, have earned FloorScore certification.

FloorScore was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) together with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) to test and certify flooring products for compliance with indoor air quality emission requirements first adopted in California.

“We pride ourselves on seeking out and offering the greenest flooring and accessory products available and FloorScore certification validates that,” said Jeff Collum, vice president for CBC Flooring. “This is a very important step in our process to expand third-party certification to validate the sustainability of our products.”

Sequoia and WELS Sheet join CBC’s Halo luxury vinyl tile and its new adhesive products, including EcoSpray, in carrying the FloorScore certification.

Both Sequoia and WELS Sheet are PVC-free and offer low VOCs for better air quality. In addition, both have low-maintenance features – using less water, chemicals and energy – adding to their environmental benefits and can be thermally recycled, as they will not release harmful dioxins, according to the company.

Sequoia flooring is mineral-based and chlorine-free and contains 38 percent pre-consumer recycled content. WELS Sheet is polyolefin- and mineral-based, contains no plasticizers or stabilizers and comes in 28 colorways.

“These new certifications are proof that we are living our EcoVision policy and squarely focused on providing truly sustainable products to the commercial market,” said Chip Braulick, senior marketing manager for CBC.
