Dana Perino, co-host and Political Commentator of Fox’s The Five, will be the featured keynote speaker at the 2012 NAFCD and NBMDA Annual Convention, November 13-15, in Orlando, Fla.
In her keynote, titled, “The Political Realities – Right Now,” Perino will bring a unique viewpoint from her time as White House Press Secretary in the George W. Bush Administration, providing insight into the current political climate.
“With the turmoil between the current administration and Congress, and the coming election, it is critical that we are able to understand what this all means for businesses,” said Kevin Gammonley, NBMDA executive vice president. “Dana Perino will be able to draw on her experience in the White House Situation Room and her time as press secretary, to help attendees at the Annual Convention decode the spin, the realities, and appreciate the ways in which the economy is affected by today’s politics.”
Perino is currently a Fox News contributor and co-host of the channel’s daily political news show. She is also the president of the strategic communications firm Dana Perino and Company; the editorial director of Crown Forum, the conservative imprint of Crown Publishing Group; and a frequent public speaker on how politics affects people outside the beltway. President Barack Obama also nominated her to the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 2009.
“We are excited to have a speaker who is so in tune with what is happening day-to-day in Washington,” said Michelle Miller, NAFCD executive vice president. “Attendees can expect to come away with an idea of how national government and policy issues will affect their business in the short and long run. With the help of Perino’s insights, our members can prepare for what is to come and how to react.”
Registration for the 2012 NAFCD and NBMDA Annual Convention is scheduled to open in July. Additional program and registration details, as well as exhibit and sponsorship information, can be found at www.distributorconvention.org.
