Välinge from Shanghai: Fold down locking systems on the rise
Välinge reports that it had a successful show in Shanghai, which resulted in many new contacts and several license agreements. The Domotex Asia/CHINAFLOOR 2012 show, DACF, was held March 27-29 and Välinge participated with booths in the Lay-tech and Pro-tech area, hall E2, and in the resilient hall, W5.
Välinge locking systems were shown in Välinge’s two booths, with focus on the 5G system in the E2 hall booth, and locking systems for LVT in the W5 hall booth with emphasis on the different types of Fold Down locking systems (5G in LVT, 2G Zip Fold Down and LVT locking systems for thin floors down to 3 mm etc.). Välinge noticed from a variety of visitors the growing popularity of Fold Down installation systems that can be offered with a broad patent protection combining Välinge’s and Akzenta/Classen’s patents, according to the company.
“We believe that producers as well as distributors appreciate the support that Välinge offers with its long experience and broad technology base. The benefits of Välinge’s locking systems are well established in both engineered wood and laminate, and customers are now seeking our advice and cooperation also for locking system in LVT and solid wood flooring,” explained Per Josefsson, Business Unit Director, Välinge.
“We had several license agreements finalized in Fold Down during the three days in Shanghai, and we are very optimistic about the future growth of market shares for our licensees in this field. This result combined with the forecasts for Nadura and ACTiO2 technologies gives us a confident view of the coming years for Välinge and our partners,” added Per Nygren, Vice President and Director of Business Unit Fold Down Systems, Välinge.
Discussions were held with LVT producers and other visitors regarding the patents Välinge can offer, which includes the recent cooperation with patent holder Mannington Mills. Välinge can, with the patents from Välinge, Akzenta/Classen, Mannington and Unilin, offer licenses on broad as well as detailed patents with earliest priority dates, the company said.
New Välinge licensees will be announced separately.
