CSI endorses new set of contract documents
The Construction Specifications Institute's (CSI) Board of Directors has endorsed a second set of ConsensusDOCS contract documents. These seven new documents aim to continue to build the contractual foundation for today’s evolving design and construction industry.
“As an organization, CSI focuses on advancing building information management and educating project teams to improve facility performance,” said CSI Executive Director and CEO Walter Marlowe, P.E., CSI, CAE. “For all of our members, contract documents play a key role in project delivery. We are proud that our participation with ConsensusDOCS has helped improve contract documents for the entire industry.”
CSI joined the ConsensusDOCS Coalition in spring 2010 to contribute in the creation of best practices for construction documentation and communication. The CSI Board endorsed an initial set of six documents in October 2010. The Board voted to endorse the latest set on January 29, 2012.
The CSI Board approved the Institute’s endorsement of the following ConsensusDOCS documents:
ConsensusDOCS 235: Standard Agreement between Owner and Constructor (Cost of the Work)
Exhibit A to ConsensusDOCS 235: Description of the Work
Exhibit B to ConsensusDOCS 235: Existing Contract Documents
ConsensusDOCS 421: Design-Builder’s Qualification Statement for a Specific Project
ConsensusDOCS 450: Standard Agreement Between Design-Builder and Subcontractor
ConsensusDOCS 460: Standard Agreement Between Design-Builder and Subcontractor (GMP)
ConsensusDOCS 702: Standard Purchase Order for Commodity Goods
ConsensusDOCS offers a catalog of 90+ contract documents covering all methods of project delivery. ConsensusDOCS contracts incorporate fair risk allocation and best practices to represent the project’s best interests; they are the only standard contract documents developed by a coalition of 35 leading industry associations representing Designers, Owners, Contractors, Subcontractors, and Sureties (DOCS).
