CFI celebrates nineteen years of promoting quality flooring installation.  At the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, TN, members and associates will gather to increase their skills and knowledge of the flooring industry. Twenty-eight companies sponsored the CFI Installer’s Convention Jacket this year.  The manufacturers will be presenting the latest information concerning their products; the 21 seminars are packed with “must-have” information to be followed by lots of fun.

Attendance has increased over thirty percent with many attending a CFI Convention for the first time. The seminar schedule has something for everyone.

The first annual Chris Davis Award will be presented in recognition and dedication to quality flooring installation through CFI. The recipient is an individual who displays the attributes of D. Christopher Davis, deceased President and CEO of the World Floor Covering Association. This individual must possess the ability and willingness to work with all members of the flooring industry to build a stronger foundation between all partners.  They must display the characteristics of leadership and the ability to work with others to achieve goals of importance that are directly related to flooring installation. The individual demonstrates support through membership in the International Certified Flooring Installers Association and share the same desires to work together as partners in the flooring industry to promote customer satisfaction as the ultimate goal.

The CFI Convention is open to all in the industry who are interested in enhancing their skills of knowledge of flooring installation.

CFI also announces open training events for all flooring installers and sales associates. Dealers and manufacturers can also schedule training events that are available to specific groups by contacting the CFI office.

Distributors nationwide have hosted CFI training events at Carpet Cushions and Supplies, L. Fishman, T & A Supply, The Cronin Company, Hank’s, Southland, T J Flooring Supplies, Tom Duffy Company and other locations. Mohawk will also conduct four more CFI Residential Carpet training events this year.

“The two-day, hands-on training workshops are presented in carpet, ceramic, resilient, laminate and wood flooring. Training is all about improving the quality of flooring installation,” said Ed Braile, Chairman of the CFI Certification Team. “CFI is known worldwide for the quality of the training that is presented.  The CFI Team of Instructors presents the latest technical and skills’ information during the workshops. The CFI Carpet Installation for the inspector, dealer, workroom owner or manager has encountered great success this year. It provides the opportunity for those who work with carpet installers to understand how difficult situations occur, whose problem it really is and discover methods to satisfy the customer.”
