Johnsonite®, the commercial arm of Tarkett, “stepped forward” in a big way at NeoCon 2012, donating $6,000 to Architecture for Humanity, a nonprofit design services firm.

To generate excitement while raising funds for Architecture for Humanity, Johnsonite provided attendees pedometers and encouraged them to visit the Johnsonite booth to record their daily steps. During the “Give Back by Stepping Forward” campaign, Johnsonite recorded 583,354 steps from pedometer-wearing attendees. Offering a $.01 donation per step, plus a bonus from Johnsonite, Architecture for Humanity will receive enough funds to support a designer for four months.

“We are very pleased with the results of our campaign,” said Cindy Mansfield, marketing communications manager. “Johnsonite and so many people teamed up for a wonderful cause and displayed just how simple it really is to 'Step Forward' – literally."

In addition to the satisfaction of giving back to a deserving cause, four participants were awarded $100 SpaFinder Gift Cards, while 20 participants won copies of the Architecture for Humanity fund-raising book, “Design Like You Give a Damn 2.”
