The 23rd edition of Interior Lifestyle Tokyo will be held from 5 to 7 June 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight. The show is Asia’s number one consumer goods fair, and is based on two of Messe Frankfurt’s largest annual fairs in Frankfurt, Germany; Ambiente, held every February, and Heimtextil, an international trade fair for home and contract textiles held every January.

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo is followed every autumn by its domestic sister fair, IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living, another successful international event that showcases high-end interior design products. Through Messe Frankfurt Group’s global network, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo has established itself as an invaluable platform and destination for buyers and sellers involved in the worldwide consumer goods industry and retail.

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2012 closed with excellent results, which led to high satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors. The fair welcomed 652 exhibitors (domestic: 480, overseas: 172) from 38 countries and regions, a best record-tie with 2011, and 26,485 visitors (domestic: 25,983, overseas: 502) from 29 countries/regions. The fair was also highly praised for presenting a landmark change, brought by Creative Direction, a group of four members, Akio Aoki – creative director, Daiki Koshiba – lifestyle producer, Dan Namura – designer and Miki Honma – journalist, commissioned with creating new concepts and events. While this fair has attracted many for its sophisticated designed space, what was exceptionally praised in 2012 was its zoning, which had a clearer concept. The fair is now again gearing up for the next edition with Creative Direction.

The next Interior Lifestyle Tokyo is planning exhibits and events with further attraction. The featured highlight is “Japan Style”, a zone that introduces designer products which reflect ‘real’ Japanese culture. The exhibited products here not only highlight traditional Japanese beauty but also reflect authentic and modern Japanese culture. At the coming fair, Japan Style is appearing at the Atrium Highlight, which has been one of the most popular exhibit areas at this fair, presenting themed exhibits. “Next” and “Talents”, also must-visit sights, offer business opportunities to young talented designers and entrepreneurs.
