The National Wood Flooring Association has announced that Brett Miller has joined its staff as Director of Certification & Education. In his new role, Miller will be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and presentation of the NWFA’s technical training schools, workshops, and on-line training, as well as the NWFA’s certification program.

NWFA President & CEO, Michael Martin, states that Miller brings a depth of knowledge to the association that will allow him to combine the objectives of both the NWFA’s technical training program and certification program.  “These programs have functioned independently for a number of years,” states Martin, “but Brett’s experience as both a contractor and a certified installer, sand and finisher, and inspector will help drive and grow these programs as the association continues to revamp its technical services.”

The NWFA recently announced that it had completely restructured its technical training program by offering one-day workshops regionally throughout the United States.  Miller will work with NWFA’s Senior Director of Technical Training, Frank Kroupa, to develop these training programs.  Workshops will be offered in six consecutive sessions, so that attendees can attend all six workshops, or just one or two depending on their professional needs and their work demands.  A complete schedule of technical offerings for 2013 can be found on the NWFA’s web site at http://www.nwfa.org/tech-ed-schedule-2013.aspx.

Miller has more than 21 years of experience in the hardwood flooring industry, most recently having worked as Regional Manager at Basic Coatings.
