Capel begins the year with three new collections during the Atlanta Rug market, all inspired by classic patterns from abroad. Two hand-tufted collections, Villandry and Tracery, are French influenced while Kasbah, a luxurious hand-knotted group takes it cues from North Africa.

Villandry

The botanical patterns in Capel’s new Villandry collection recall the designed kitchen gardens of 16^th century France. These planted vegetables and flowers appeared as if embroidered when viewed from above. The same intricate design can be seen in Capel’s adaptation of the multi-colored, open-work patterns.

Spa, cream, espresso and spice colorways serve as a backdrop for warm, multi-colored patterns. Sizes range from 3’ x 5’ to 9’ x 13’.  A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $389. Villandry is hand-tufted of 100 percent wool in India.

Tracery

Four spa-toned colorways – mint, pale gray, bisque and charcoal – feature complex, tone-on-tone tracings in either a circular- or square-based pattern. Tracery is hand tufted in India of 70 percent wool and 30 percent viscose. Sizes start at 3’ x 5’ and run to 9’ x 13’.  A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $449.

Kasbah

Heavily influenced by North African architecture, Kasbah features designs with graphic lines and Moorish arches.

Three patterns – diamond, star and cube – are laid over solid brown, aqua and natural colorways. Kasbah is hand-knotted in India of 100 percent wool, at 22 knots per square inch. Its high pile and plush hand reinforce the luxurious nature. Four sizes are available starting at 3’ x 5’ up to 8’ x 11’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $849.

Promotions and Savings

In addition to the quality found in its new products, Capel has also invested considerably in savings programs and new promotional materials for buyers.

Product Savings

The biggest payoffs in business always come from taking a risk. And so it is with Capel’s discount drawing. After orders are placed, retailers can draw for discounts ranging from 10 to 50 percent on a wide range of stylish Capel designs.

Customers that order at least $250 of braided rug products (including rugs and samples) at the market will receive a 10 percent discount.  To sweeten the deal, the discount will be extended on all braid orders through April 15, 2013.

Rug displays offer the greatest reduction. All available displays will be sold at a 75 percent discount during market.

2013 Catalog

Capel’s eagerly anticipated 2013 catalog “The Guide” will be available during market. The 240-page guide employs engaging graphics and compelling copy that inspire consumers to be their own interior decorator. Buyers can stop by the Capel showroom in AmericasMart Building 1, space 6F2, to pick up their own copy.

Freight Savings

In addition to attractive product discounts, customers also can enjoy major savings on freight costs.  Dealers that purchase $1,000 of Capel’s new winter introductions receive a 10 percent freight allowance.
