Ribadao Lumber and Flooring, LLC announced the start of operations in the United States. The company’s corporate office is located in Miami, Florida with distribution centers located in Florida, New Jersey and California. The company is looking forward to the annual NWFA show in April 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Ribadao is eager to show off its African product line consisting of African Cedar, African Teak, Afzelia, Sapelli and Wenge to the U.S. Market.

“Ribadao has long wanted to enter the U.S. market but current market opportunities convinced us that now is the time,” said Ribadao President, Pedro Tavares. “We felt there was a niche for a new type of flooring company for people who are looking for something special and varied.”

Although there are many lumber and flooring companies, Ribadao intends to offer a more exclusive line. Mr. Tavares continued, “Ribadao Lumber and Flooring was founded in S. Joao De Areias, Portugal over 40 years ago. Our company is synonymous with fine flooring throughout Europe.” “Ribadao has concessions to over 800,000 acres of Congo Forest which allow us to obtain and produce some of the finest and elegant floors in the world while sustaining and respecting the environment for which we work tirelessly to maintain.

Ribadao plans to expand to Canada, Central America and South America in the next five years. Beyond that, additional flooring lines are expected within the next two years. “Our goal is to provide the most unique and elegant line of flooring to America while promising affordability, service and professionalism,” Tavares said.
