Maine Traditions Hardwood Flooring of Solon, Maine is pleased to announce that The Merle B. Smith Co., Inc. of Burr Ridge, Illinois is now the distributor of the brand for the state of Illinois.

Maine Traditions 3/4" solid hardwood floors (unfinished and prefinished) are milled with the patented TEMAVI locking tongue and groove system, reduce squeaking and minimize the effects of expansion and contraction. Maine Traditions unfinished flooring featuring TEMAVI T&G offers a 30% reduction in on-site sanding for significant labor savings. Sanding these floors also produces over a third less dust than conventional unfinished hardwood. And once installed, TEMAVI boards are virtually locked together (whether prefinished or unfinished) for stable, quiet floors that homeowners love. Merle B. Smith Company will also offer Maine Traditions ½” thick prefinished engineered flooring in the 3 ¼” tongue & groove Katahdin Collection and their 5” Tree-Loc “click” series, both consisting of a 3mm sawn face with a 7 layer birch plywood backer and truly random lengths from 12” up to 78”. New for 2013 are 11 exciting new stains, including three distinctive solid Red Oak floors in 5” wide wirebrushed planks.
