Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola, North America (CCImola), an Italian ceramic and porcelain tile manufacturer, won Coverings 2013 Best in Show for their booth design presented by Confindustria Ceramica of Italy. Located in the Ceramics of Italy section of the show, CCImola’s booth clearly defined their brands while giving a nod to their heritage as true masters of their craft.

Designed by Alessandro Bucci Architetti, who also designed CCImola’s showroom in Imola, Italy, created a space that intuitively moved the visitor through each brand while bringing elements that gave a nod to the company’s heritage as being the oldest artist cooperative in Italy. Merging these ideas were achieved in a relevant, fresh approach while highlighting product as the centerpiece of each brand through whimsical shadow boxes, floor-to-ceiling tile collages using large and small format tiles and iPad technology that supplied the customer with information and room scenes of every product displayed (and more). Greenery in and around the booth complemented the company’s ceramic core competency adding color and symbolizing the growth of each of the brands.

“The energy at Coverings this year was lively and we felt a great energy in our space,” said Thomas D. Smith, president of Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola, North America. “When you can create an environment for your customers and present product that excites them, that’s a win-win. It’s a great honor to be the recipient of an award like this from the Confindustria Ceramica, and to be acknowledged for design at this level.”

Imola Ceramica, LaFaenza and Leonardo each launched 2 new programs at Coverings that collectively span every market segment including contract, hospitality, retail and residential. More than 50 products including new introductions and the most popular styles are Green SquaredÒ Certified.
