Metroflor Corp. announced the winner of its “Engage With Metroflor Corp.!” contest: Annie McWilliams of Hayworth, IL. She is one of over 1,975 visitors to Metroflor’s FaceBook page who "Like" Metroflor and one of the over 50 people who entered the contest by creating their own Pinterest Pinboard, which had to incorporate at least one Engage Room Scene, as well as other scenes/images found on the web, and posting their entry on Facebook. Entrants were then encouraged to reach out to their social media networks and ask “friends and family” to vote for their Pinterest Pinboard, with the Grand Prize Winner being the owner of the Pinterest Pinboard that received the most votes.

Annie created the winning Pinterest board with the theme “Rustic Walk Out Basement” pinterest.com/rocketanne33/engage-with-metroflor-corp-rustic-walk-out-basemen/: a montage of images that inspired her to redecorate the space in a rustic yet sophisticated style.

Annie, as the Grand Prize Winner, will receive $2,500 towards the purchase of an Engage LVT floor. Other contest boards included themes such as “Sleek Modern Kitchen”, “Family Room Redo”, and “Boyish (and some Girlish!) Bedrooms”.

Annie, her husband and their English bulldog/beagle moved into their ranch home on five acres in July 2012. The main focus of their redecorating project is a 1,500-square-foot “walk out” basement which takes up nearly half of the home’s square footage. They intend to reinvent it as a large entertainment space with dining room for holiday celebrations, which can also double as a guest room. “I heard about the Metroflor Engage contest on Remodelaholic.com and thought Engage would be the perfect flooring solution,” said Annie. “For a basement, its moisture resistance and easy maintenance were key, as well as being pet and family friendly.

“I so enjoyed creating the Engage Pinterest page: going on the Engage web site, looking at samples and photos, and putting together the concept. It was also cool and fun to see the ideas of other people who entered the contest.” Her choice: grey-toned Engage Select Plank in Woodburn Hickory with Saw Cut Finish. “Being out in the country, we will carry through the rustic theme in the basement, and Woodburn Hickory ties in perfectly with that look.”

Art Clarke, social media coordinator for Metroflor said, “Our Engage with Metroflor Corp. Contest was a phenomenal success, thanks in large part to the efforts of our blogger-partner, Cassity Kmetzsch of www.remodelaholic.com, as well our use of multiple social platforms, which helped to encourage participation in both contest-entry and voting.”

Engage offers one of the most comprehensive, aesthetically-appealing collections available today in locking LVT that have proven to be a hit with consumers looking for a durable, yet attractive flooring solution. A beautiful array of designs appears in two grades – Essentials Planks and Essentials Tiles, Select Plank and Select Tiles, and Engage Reserve. The rich visuals are complemented with eight different textures, so the products “feel” as real as they look.
