Välinge Innovation and Novalis Innovative Flooring announce that the companies have signed a license where Novalis obtains a license on Välinge IP related to resilient floors, including an indemnification on patents from Mannington Mills Inc. related to LVT flooring.

The floor-covering producer Novalis enters into a license agreement covering specific Välinge and Mannington patent rights for LVT products. The agreement is a part of a strengthened cooperation since Välinge and Novalis already in December 2012 signed a license agreement related to Fold Down technologies based on Välinge's and Classen’s patent rights for use on it’s LVT products.

“More than 10 companies have already obtained protection on the Mannington patents since Välinge and Mannington entered into a cooperation, and several more will follow. Novalis is dedicated to meet market demands by developing and launching new improved, consumer friendly products and solutions. Together with us they use the possibility to obtain necessary licenses for use of related IP. We are happy to announce this cooperation as addition to earlier announced cooperation on Fold Down system, known from Novalis NovaClic FD products ” says Niclas Håkansson, CEO, Välinge.

Välinge and Mannington signed in January 2012 a cross-license agreement for LVT technology. This agreement covers the Välinge specific IP rights related to resilient flooring with priority from 2001 and the Mannington IP rights that describes a resilient floor with a mechanical locking system with priority from 1999. The agreement creates a very strong protection for any kind of LVT-floor with mechanical locking system.

Välinge’s locking technology for LVT has proven to be superior over the alternatives for standard locking as well as for Fold Down. Technology of mechanical locking systems for thin 3 mm flooring as well as easy installed 5G system for large, wide tiles can be offered Välinge’s licensees.
