The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 50+ Housing Council is now accepting applications for the 2014 Best of 50+ Housing Awards, which honor excellence in building, design, marketing and lifestyle of housing for boomers and beyond. A panel of industry professionals will judge entries in a total of 45 award categories, including "Best 50+ Detached Home," "Best 50+ Affordable Rental Community," "Best 50+ Recognition of Sustainable Features," "Best 50+ Online Marketing Strategy" and "Best 50+ Lifestyle Program," among others.
Winning entries in the 50+ Project Awards (Built) categories are automatically nominated for the Best 50+ Community of the Year Award--the NAHB Best of 50+ Housing Awards' top honor. This award recognizes the community that demonstrates excellence in innovative design and construction and also reflects the attention to detail that signals a superior community.
"A healthier housing economy has enabled mature buyers to sell their existing homes and purchase homes that are more user-friendly," said 50+ Housing Council Chairman Robert Karen, managing member of the Symphony Development Group. "Builders are responding with innovative designs and features at all price points--and the sector's top tier will be honored in the Best of 50+ Housing Awards."
All builders, developers, marketers and designers of 50+ housing are invited to enter this prestigious awards competition. The winners will be announced at the NAHB International Builders' Show in Las Vegas on Feb. 5, 2014.
