For the fifth consecutive year, ASCER has organized a group participation of Tile of Spain - the umbrella brand for the international promotion of Spanish ceramic tiles- in Ace Tech 2013. This international fair will be held October 17-20 in the Mumbai Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India.

The Spanish group participation organized by ASCER includes the sum of eight ceramic tile companies in the event: Apavisa, Azulejos Mijares, Cerámicas Aparici, Gres de Aragón, Hijos de F. Gaya Forés, Neolith, Pamesa y Realonda. Specifically, the Spanish participation combined will take up 170 square meters in Hall 1 of the architecture, building and engineering fair.

Et Ace Tech is India’s leading architecture, construction and engineering trade fair. Six editions of the event are held each year in the country’s main economic hubs (Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Bengalulu, Kalkata and Ahmedadad) Mumbai is the most important edition, which gathers the highest number of exhibitors and visitors. The event is the ideal showcase for the latest trends, the most innovative products and cutting-edge technological solutions from Spanish ceramic wall and floor tile manufacturers.

Spanish participation at Ace Tech aims to boost the Spanish ceramic tile industry’s presence in the Indian market, with particular emphasis on improving their position for specific advisors. It must not be forgotten that together with China, India is at the forefront of the Asian economic recovery, thanks to measures designed to boost domestic demand. 

Spanish exports increase 

During the first quarter of 2013, exports of Spanish ceramic tiles increased by 10 percent compared with the same period in the previous year. In terms of value, exports reached 1.161 million euros.

Spanish ceramic tile is a leading sector in technology, quality, prestige and design, being among the distinguished countries in production and exportation worldwide. Spain is the second worldwide exporting country and the first European producer.

In 2012, the Spanish ceramic tile industry exported 80 percent of its turnover to 180 countries. The annual turnover in 2001 reached 2.656 million euros. The ceramic tile industry is the third sector in terms of commercial surplus contributing to the Spanish economy. Besides, it is one of the most outstanding examples of industrial cluster in Spain as well as in Europe. Thanks to its characteristics, its economic and social values, its capacity to innovate and grow and its leadership in the world, the Spanish ceramic tile cluster from the region of Castellon has succeeded in establishing as a reference in this industry around the world, being an example of a sustainable, competitive and unique industry in Europe. 

India, an opportunity for Tile of Spain

In the first semester of 2013, exports to India were ahead of 5,5 million of euros, and India is currently the 39th market in the ranking of Tile of Spain´s export destinations. Indian market is very attractive for Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufactures due to its continuous economic growth and its huge size. Tile of Spain has the opportunity of positioning itself in high market segments of added value in India.

As a result of the growing interest in the Indian market, the 2013 international promotion program includes a series of initiatives, -including participation at trade fairs - aimed at establishing a country-image and helping Spanish brands and businesses to position themselves on the market.
