Süddekor Expands Operations

Süddekor has announced an expansion to its North American operations slated for completion in October, 2013.

A new, state-of-the-art treater that offers a variety of proprietary overlays for high and low pressure laminates will be added to Süddekor’s East Longmeadow, Mass. facility, increasing Süddekor LLC’s treating capacity by 50 percent and creating a total output of 100 million square meters of treated products.

Michel Ross, director of treating operations, explained that the East Longmeadow facility already charted new ground in the laminate industry by becoming the first single source supplier for printed and treated papers in the North American market. This equipment addition will add a fourth treater to the company’s North American operations, which are located in East Longmeadow and Agawam, Mass., and Biscoe, North Carolina.

“Having design, printing, and treating under one roof saves money and provides efficiency by eliminating transportation, enhancing scheduling, improving quality control issues, and decreasing lead times, thereby reducing the complexity for laminators,” Ross said, noting that site preparation began in April 2013, machinery installation began in July 2013, with the full expansion on track for full production on November 1.

The major North American markets served by Süddekor’s design, print, and treating services are laminate flooring, office furniture, kitchen cabinets, building products, and retail store fixtures. For more information, visit suddekorllc.com
