Tom Paul has joined Scott Group Custom Carpets as an account executive.

In his new role, Paul will be responsible for residential architectural and design sales in its New York City showroom in the D&D Building.
 
Paul brings 15 years of experience as a corporate, retail and freelance graphic and interior designer, most recently as a design assistant at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams flagship showroom in New York City. His clients have included clothing boutiques, law firms and catalog retailers such as Musician Friends, Harry & David and Jackson & Perkins. 
 
Paul also worked as an assistant manager at the Baker Tribeca showroom in New York City and as an interior design consultant for Vine Life Interior Design in San Francisco and Bassett Furniture showroom in San Carlos, Calif.  He has designed and staged the interiors of homes in California, Oregon and Florida, as well as a cocktail lounge in Manhattan.
 
Paul has received several honors for his graphic design work, including Gold and Silver American Catalog Awards, sponsored by Catalog Age magazine. He also is an award-winning painter and artist.
 
Over the past five years, Scott Group has experienced strong growth, according to the company.  In September, the company acquired Texas-based Hokanson Carpets, allowing it to expand its geographical footprint and move into the residential design sector.  Over the past year, Scott Group has added more than 40 employees to meet increasing customer demand for its luxury carpets and rugs.
