Division 9 Flooring Supports Community Improvement Projects with Donations

Division 9 Flooring has donated four loads of flooring and adhesives to support community improvement projects in Washington and California since June 2014.
The donations benefited Habitat for Humanity partners in Lynnwood, Seattle, and Tacoma, Wash., as well as River Valley Community Outreach Center (RVCOC), a nonprofit in Gridley, Calif., that works to improve the lives of families in need in the Sacramento area.
Mountain Re-Source Center, a nonprofit that seeks donations of usable materials to support the work of other nonprofit organizations, coordinated the donation on behalf of Habitat for Humanity and RVCOC.
Heidi May of Division 9 Flooring said the company is proud to support local communities.
“At Division 9, we are big on sustainability and take pride in our 99% recycling rate. We take it into consideration with every decision we make. We feel very fortunate to be in a position to help those in need. It’s our way of giving back to the community."
Division 9 is also a member of the Flooring Association Northwest, a statewide organization of flooring retailers, contractors, distributors and manufacturers, which is also affiliated with the World Floor Covering Association.
Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County used the flooring both in construction of new homes and in the restore, where the sale of material raised money for new construction efforts. Additionally, Division 9 has committed to provide materials and installation support for several new homes this year.
Resource Development Director Marnee Chua thanked Division 9 for their incredible partnership. "We are so pleased to partner with Division 9. The material it is donating to our store and our local build projects make a big difference for low-income families as we keep the cost of building homes down and ensure that our partner families move in as soon as possible. All sales of materials in our Habitat Store support our home build projects.”
Herb Miller, executive director of Mountain Re-Source Center, added, “Division 9 Flooring truly understands the value of supporting local organizations through donations of their excess materials. Habitat for Humanity and River Valley Community Outreach Center both serve families in need and this flooring will go a long way in these communities. We are grateful for their ongoing partnership.”
