Nemo Tile's Mel Saenz has been promoted to director of architectural sales.

As director of architectural sales, Saenz is now leading Nemo's architecture and design department. Among fostering client relationships to optimize sales opportunities, some of her new responsibilities also include: evaluating the sales team through incentives, compensation and reviews, working with the creative director to develop sales tools and marketing collateral, reviewing new product selections with the management team, and fielding all vendor visit requests.

Prior to joining the company in 2010, Saenz worked at Italian glass mosaics company Bisazza. “I wanted to be a part of a company culture that treats its employees and clients like family,” she said. “Matt Karlin, Nemo's president, has a vision to build a solid team of industry leaders and I want to be a part of it. I don’t want to be just a salesperson; I want to be involved in the design community as a resource for tile.”

Nemo Tile has also hired new team members for the company’s sales department. Sabrina Domingues, a new architecture and design account manager, has over 10 years of experience in the A&D community, as well as business development. Domingues has worked at both New York and San Francisco firms including MG & Co., ICRAVE and Puccini Group. Also an International Interior Design Association (IIDA) member, Domingues brings an all-encompassing knowledge base to Nemo Tile.

Nemo has also appointed Priscila Bissi as architecture and design account manager. “The technology in this industry is evolving—firing methods, recycled material, new compositions of materials - to achieve greater durability and ease of use,” she said. “Nemo is a place where I can be involved with bringing this exciting news to the design community.”

In this role, Bissi provides the A&D community with information on Nemo Tile and its products, innovative manufacturing solutions and creative inspiration for product specification. Bissi is also a member of IIDA.
