SCS Global Services, a widely recognized independent certifier for recycled content claims around the world, has certified, annually, several MP Global Products underlayments for their recycled content and their impact on indoor air quality.

QuietWalk®, designed for floating wood and laminate flooring, carries SCS Global Services Certification that it is made of minimum 94% Pre-consumer Recycled Textile Content, an evaluation that notes the product is made from pre-consumer or post-consumer material diverted from the waste stream. QuietWalk also meets all qualifications and is certified for outstanding indoor air quality standards with the Indoor Advantage Gold, which validates measured concentration of total VOCs to be less than/equal to 0.5mg/m3 and compliance to CA (California) 01350 and ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 test methods. The IAQ (indoor air quality) Certification also indicates that the product qualifies for LEED low-emitting materials credits.

Insulayment®, for glue-down and nail-down hardwood or engineered wood floors, is made from 100% recycled fibers and carries SCS Global Services certification to that fact. It also carries the SCS certification Indoor Advantage Gold. And here’s another earth-smart attribute: as long as the existing floor covering is still adhered tightly to a level, even, and structurally sound solid subfloor and is free of excessive wax, grease, or sealants, Insulayment can be glued directly to secure old vinyl composition tile or non-cushioned sheet vinyl, eliminating the potential problem of exposing asbestos elements.

UltraLayer®, for ceramic and porcelain tile floors, likewise made from 100% recycled fibers and also carries SCS Global Services certifications for 100% recycled fiber composition and for Indoor Advantage Gold.

LuxWalk, for glue-down and floating applications of luxury vinyl flooring, contains 31% post-consumer materials, using plastic fibers derived from discarded water bottles that could have potentially ended up in landfills, lakes, and rivers.
