MAPEI has expanded its line of thixotropic mortars with the introduction of Ultraflex LHT.

“Ultraflex LHT has been available in the Canadian market since mid-2015 and has proved to be very successful," said Brian Pistulka, MAPEI business manager for tile and stone installation systems (TSIS). “MAPEI expects to repeat this success in the U.S. with the release of Ultraflex LHT in the first quarter of 2016.”

Ultraflex LHT is a nonsag medium-bed and thin-set mortar for large-format and heavy tile and stone for interior/exterior installations on floors, walls and countertops. This polymer-modified mortar is formulated with Easy Glide Technology for ease of application up to ½-inch (12 mm), with excellent adhesion to the substrate and tile, according to the company.

“The sales trend of MAPEI’s Ultraflex LFT mortar has continued to grow year after year and has outpaced average growth within the TSIS market,” said Pistulka. “This trend is a strong indication that our thixotropic, easy-to-spread mortar technology has established a contractor following. Along with its unique application and performance properties, plus its medium-bed mortar uses, the technology is also aligned with the evolving installation trend of large-and-heavy-format tile and stone in ever-increasing sizes.”
